Whether you are young or old, experienced or a novice, if you fail to launch, you will fall back on most of your goals. Course correction is managing on the fly, it is being prepared to make decisions and act on the information you have and understanding that if you do not get the desired outcome, you adjust; again, on the fly!
The only thing that is constant is change. If we believe this, then we accept adapting as a fundamental aspect of any relationship, strategy or circumstance. Where does this apply?
When a family unit is broken: we have the opportunity to redefine relationships and start a different phase of our lives. When a commercial contract is terminated: it is disappointing however, it presents an opportunity to review what went wrong and leverage in succeeding contracts.
When lifestyles change with a decrease or increase in wealth, ability, debt, we take a pause (or should) to reflect on preceding and succeeding decisions. We decide, in those moments, if to bring to bear the knowledge garnered or pout, rather unproductively.
Course correction requires reliance on skills and knowledge to ward off procrastination and fear of the unknown. It requires introspection and a willingness to unlearn bad decision making and replace that with good decision making.
Course correction is a life skill that helps us overcome adversity in our personal and commercial engagements. Reflect on a failure that led to success, a situation where pause would have yielded greater benefit than action. In those moments, course correction worked and it can be honed to harness strategic thinking in managing conflict and personal finances.
